Ready to be Done, but not ready to Leave

Well it seems that high school is finally coming to an end. After our long years it will all end with a walk across the stage. We’ll end our last day as seniors with The Relay for Life, it’s our last Hillcrest activity together and has became a tradition for exiting seniors over the years.

I may be ready to be done with high school but I’m not ready to leave HIllcrest. It has been my home for the past four years and it’s the place I love. I am proud to say that I am a HIllcrest Hornet and will never regret that.

I will miss all the things about Hillcrest and the people in it. The traditions that I have came to learn at school all have meaning and I hope to see the continued in the years to come.

The thing that I will miss most is HTV. And it’s not just HTV it’s the whole west wing of the school. Getting out of class and going and hiding in Coach’s office, sneaking out the back by the baseball field to go get lunch, and just talking to Coach about all the schools drama. The HTV room was just the place you could always go to escape the craziness of high school.

I wish everyone the best of luck and I will miss everyone so much!

A Spring Break for the Bull

This past spring break I only stayed in my own bed three nights over the whole break. One of those nights was the Sunday before we went back to school so I didn’t really have a choice. I spent the entire Spring Break with all of my really good friends!

We did a lot of really fun things, some probably seemed stupid to others but we didn’t care. The most fun thing we did the whole break was a ride a barrell.

I know that sounds crazy to those that have no clue what I’m talking about, but let me exlain. One of our friends has a spring barrell that is hanging in his barn. It’s a barrell hanging by ropes and springs. The idea is it’s like riding a bull. Except when you fall off you don’t have the change of being trampled over by a raging animal.

We asked if we could come ride and he was more than happy to let us. He explained how it worked and we got on! No one fell off at first, but then he convicned Bailey to try to go side to side. Well she was on a total of two seconds before she fell off. And she wasn’t lucky enough to land in the hay. She got thrown across the floor. She didn’t end up getting hurt and we contiued to ride.

Next Cody convinced us to try and ride with two on at a time. We didn’t even hesitate. Marlee and I volenteered and we hoped on. I held on to the rope and she held on to me. We didn’t last very long. We were on for maybe five seconds a then fell off. We flipped over the front and both landed on our heads. We both lived but we decided to call it quits after that.

One More to Go

Besides being one of the crazier weeks of my life I’m a little excited. After I get done with finals this week I only have one semester of high school left! It’s weird to think about and anytime anyone mentions it around my mom she starts to tear up.

But even though it’s almost over I feel like my friends and I are making the best out of it! We went to every football game and cheer as loud as we can at all the basketball games. We learned all the tricks of Hillcrest in our four years here. How to sneak past the lunch guards, hiding food in our bags, “dropping” equipment off around back, or not wearing our ID’s. But most of all our hide away from everything! The HTV room! No kid that went to any other high school will ever understand the joy and freedom that the HTV room. It will be the one thing I miss most about high school.

I love high school and everything that goes along with it, but I’m ready to be the small fish in the big ocean. I’ve just about out grown this little pond. College here I come!!

Oh High School

The names of the people in this tale have been changed to protect their identities. This is a true story about the real lives of two high school students.

I have two friends that I have been close with for a long time. Their names are Robert and Karla.

The past year Robert and Karla started to get closer and closer. They became best friends. They would talk to each other constantly and anytime either one had a problem they were the first person the other came running to.

As their friendship grew so did Robert’s feelings for Karla. When Robert told Karla his feelings she got a little scared. She was to afraid to act on her feelings because she was to scared to lose her best friend.

One thing you need to know about Karla is that she doesn’t have the best track record with guys. She tends to be a bit of a heart breaker. Robert on the other hand is one of the sweetest guys you’ll ever meet! He would do anything for anyone!

But back to the story! Robert started falling head over heels for Karla. Although Karla had strong feelings for him too, she was so afraid that she would do the same thing to him as she had to many other guys. And the sad thing about this is that Robert was willing to wait as long as it took. If he could just get a chance with Karla.

I repeatedly told her to just give him a chance! Because the way I look at it is that if you never take the chance you’ll never know what you missed! And come on! It’s High School you’re not going to marry the guy! You just need to enjoy this time in your life and live with no regrets! But Karla loves Robert so much that she won’t come to let herself have an opportunity to hurt the one that she loves!! It’s kind of in a way like a trageic romance.

Robert is still waiting for Karla and I think he always will until she just gives him a chance to prove his self. I write a new blog in about a month and I hope to report back that things have taken a positive road for Robert and Karla:)

Worst moment of my LIFE!

I was suppost to work this past Saturday from 1-5. Our football team had just beat Parkview the night before and we all went over to one of the player’s house to have a 4-foot long victory sub! Oh, and there was a chocolate fountain there! We all stayed out really late! Marlee, Brittney and I decided to stay the night together and we didn’t get to bed until 3 a.m. then slept until 11.

We got up went and got a paper then had breakfast at cracker barrel(breakfast at noon) after we were finished we were going back to Brittney’s and on the way we drove by Paradise Tan.

Paradise Tan is a tanning salon where both Marlee and I work. As we drove by I noticed that it was closed. It was really odd for it to be closed at 1:30 on a Saturday so Marlee said to call up there and see if anyone was working. So I called up there and no one answered so I pulled out my planner to see who was suppost to work…………and it was ME!!

I was suppost to go in and work at 1 totally forgot. Then Marlee said well why didn’t the person who worked the morning shift call and ask where you were? Then she looked terrified and realized that she was suppost to open and work 9-1! We both started freaking out and called our managers apologizing and we got up there as fast as we could!

We still can’t believe how we both forgot we had to work! And if it wasn’t for driving by we would have never remembered that we were the ones that were suppost to be working. Let’s just say it was the worst moment of my life.

Home Again!

I had an amazing time on the trip but i am so thankful to be home! My overall favorite city was Nashville. It felt like I was home and it was easy to get around. My second favorite was New York City. It had so many different things going on, but i could never ever live there! I think I’ll stick to my not so big apple.

I am so glad I got to share this experience with some of my closest friends and I’ll always remember the trip we took the Spring Break of our Junior year! We all became a lot closer during the trip, A LOT CLOSER!!! and I hope it stays that way for the years to come!

I honestly think without the hard work and teamwork of our HTV staff the trip wouldn’t have been such a success!

Thanks for making my trip such an amazing one!! I love all of you that I spent the past 10 days with!

Oh and Coach Davis I can’t wait for the West Coast next year!!;)

Family and Fortune Cookies

Today as we pulled into Charlotte it started off with a rush! We got off the bus at Lowe’s Motor Speedway and went on a track tour. It was awesome!! I had never been to that speedway before and I had a great time! And I spent a pretty chuck of change on gifts for my family being the NASCAR lovers we are!!

After the tour my Aunt Lynn Ann, who lives in Charlotte, came and met me to hangout and I went with her. We drove back to the hotel and met the bus to carry all my stuff inside so my friends wouldn’t have to. We hung out in the hotel room for awhile waiting to figure out what everyone was doing. During this time we decided to just go do our owe thing.

Me, Marlee, Olivia, and Aunt lynn Ann got into the car and went on our way! She drove us around town showing us Charlotte, pointing out all the best places to eat, and telling hilarious stories!

We ended up at P.F. Chang’s. We had a great meal and even better conversation. It was so much fun getting to hangout with my Aunt and just having a good time. Olivia and Marlee both loved her and can’t wait to come down and visit her!

BUT!!! The best part of the meal was dessert!! We each got our own mini dessert then we got a huge one for everyone to share!! It was amazing!! It was gone in less than 2 minutes! We finally ended our meal with fortune cookies. Thats when Aunt Lynn Ann taught us a trick that made our fortunes way more interesting!!

We all had a great time and didn’t want to her to leave! I would have been satisfied spending the whole 10 days here with her instead. It would have been like spending the week at my big sisters house!:) I can’t wait to come back down and spend part of the summer!

But until then off to Nashville!!

Thanks for the great night Aunt Lynn Ann and I can’t to come down this summer!! Love you:)
